New original content from top YouTube creators
28 Nisan 2015 Salı
At YouTube, we have a core belief: we only succeed if our creators do.
After launching the
Creator Hub
to help creators get the most out of YouTube from anywhere in the world and opening
YouTube Spaces
in the U.S., the U.K., Japan and Brazil, we decided to take an even bolder step to invest in ambitious projects from our top creators. Today, we’re announcing partnerships with four top creators to help bring their next big original series to life on YouTube:
Since launching their first YouTube channel in 2007, the
Fine Brothers’
channels have amassed over 17 million subscribers and over 3 billion views as well as earning a Daytime Emmy. They’ll continue the hot streak with their new scripted comedy series that takes a satirical look at the world of singing competition shows, produced in partnership with Mandeville Films.
For six years,
Prank vs. Prank
have waged an epic prank war on each other in front of an audience of nearly 14 million subscribers and generated nearly 3 billion views on their two channels. In their forthcoming series, celebrity guests join Jesse and Jeana to pull off their most ambitious pranks yet.
Joey Graceffa
has built a devoted fan following of over 5 million subscribers, cumed over 600 million views and earned two Teen Choice nominations through his channels’ daily vlogs, scripted series and short films. Now Joey will lead an all-star cast of YouTubers in his all-new murder mystery reality series.
For a decade,
Smosh
has entertained a YouTube fanbase of over 35 million subscribers across their channels with comedy sketches that have generated over 7 billion views. In their new comedy series, we’ll see Ian and Anthony working at a theme restaurant where out-of-control kids and crazy parents are all in a day’s work.
We’re also excited to announce a new collaboration between YouTube and
AwesomenessTV
. Together, we’ll release several feature length films over the next two years, all driven by YouTube stars and developed and produced by AwesomenessTV’s Brian Robbins. The films will all premiere globally on YouTube before they become available elsewhere, setting what we believe will become a new distribution paradigm for years to come. We hope to release our first film this fall, with more details to come soon.
We hope that these new series and feature films, as well as those that follow, give top creators a new way to showcase their talent to fans on YouTube.

Old Spice, Red Bull, and Bears Oh My! A look back at the last five years of ads on YouTube
8 Nisan 2015 Çarşamba
Do you remember life before the
Old Spice Man
? Or the
epic split
that launched a
thousand splits
? Since launching our skippable TrueView video ads five years ago, we’ve had countless iconic moments from brands on YouTube. That’s because with our introduction of ads you can skip, brands have amped up their game and created videos that feel less like ads and more like content you want to watch. In fact, last year
four of the top 10
trending videos of the year were created by brands.
To celebrate our fifth anniversary of our skippable TrueView ads, we’re bringing you back to 2010, with a look at the
top five trending ads
on YouTube from five years ago. Do you remember them all?
1) DC Shoes: “Ken Block’s Gymkhana THREE, Part 2; Ultimate Playground; l’Autodrome, France
DC Shoes took us behind the wheel with Ken Block on a track with banks as steep as 51 degrees—more than double the incline of most racecar tracks!
2) Old Spice: The Man Your Man Could Smell Like
In 2010, Old Spice took the web by storm with their 'The Man Your Man Could Smell Like' campaign. Even funnier were the resulting real-time conversations that ensued
with celebrities like Alyssa Milano
.
3) Red Bull: Danny MacAskill - Way Back Home
Two years before Felix Baumgartner jumped from the stratosphere, Red Bull was still leading the charge on creating breathtaking HD ads.
4) Old Spice: Questions
The "Old Spice Man" became so popular that two of his videos were among the five most popular of the year - totalling nearly 75M views of both ads combined.
5) Tippex: NSFW. A hunter shoots a bear.
We'd be remiss not to give a shout-out to Tippex, who made white-out, of all products, a YouTube hit with their incredibly clever play on “choose your own adventure, YouTube style” in this ad.
But 2010 was just a starting point for great videos from brands. We’ve seen more creativity from brands on YouTube over the past five years, and as a result we’re watching more. In fact, the top 100 brands are now generating 42 percent more views per month on YouTube, according to Pixability.
1
And we're seeing great growth in new advertisers adopting video ads on YouTube--the number of advertisers using TrueView grew 45 percent in 2014
2
and all of the top 100 global brands have run TrueView video ads over the past year.
3
To check out some of the most memorable ads on YouTube, take a look at our
Iconic Ad Moments on YouTube playlist.
We look forward to see what brands will come up with this year!

Here it is, folks. Today we're dropping a collection of exclusive, new music videos from some of the biggest and emerging artists on YouTube for the
2015 YouTube Music Awards Show
, presented by Kia. Produced by VICE and made by some of the most original music video directors alive, this new kind of awards show puts you in the front row and all the performances at your fingertips -- right now. To get even more into the show, host
Tyler Oakley
will take you through the highlights, and you can join the conversation online with #YTMA.
Action Bronson feat. Chance the Rapper - "Baby Blue" [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
Joined by Chance the Rapper, Action Bronson puts his twist on the cult classic "Coming to America" as he travels through NYC to find his queen. The video was directed by Lil Chris, and the single was produced by Mark Ronson off the anticipated album Mr. Wonderful, set for release on VICE/Atlantic March 24.
Cahoots - "No Money" (feat. Roomie) [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
Cahoots, the YouTube supergroup comprised of Spain’s Curricé and England’s Matt DeFreitas and Tom Joseph Law, has come together with director De La Muerte for an over-the-top, crazy collaboration of talent on a cinematic “stage.”
Charli XCX "Famous" [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
Charli XCX and director Eric Wareheim invite you to a heightened dreamy reality where people are living in their online personas, and everything is beautiful and filtered. But when we are suddenly disconnected and returned to reality, it’s a total nightmare.
Ed Sheeran & Rudimental "Bloodstream" [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
Ed Sheeran. Rudimental. Need we say more? In this new video directed by Emil Nava, the combo has a surprise for fans that can be summed up in two words: Ray. Liotta.
FKA twigs "Glass & Patron" [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
In a moody forest in the back of a van, FKA twigs births into the world eight dancers whose subsequent stunning performance is set to twigs' brand-new song "Glass & Patron." If you're one of the many people who have watched and loved the past music videos twigs directed herself, then you’re in for a treat.
Kygo "Stole the Show" [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
Ever had a house party DJ’d by Kygo where a couple from space steal the show with their out of the world dance moves? If no, then you need to watch this video, directed by Saman Kesh. If yes, then get ready for the surprise ending.
Lindsey Stirling "Take Flight" [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
Two-time YouTube Music Award winner and performer Lindsey Stirling moves through an Escher-like universe on an adventure to find life in the mountains that hover above her city, directed by Joe Sill.
Martin Garrix feat. Usher "Don't Look Down" [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
Dutch DJ Martin Garrix is becoming one of the most important names in electronic dance music on YouTube, and when he teams up with Usher, big things happen. To bring this song to life, director Petros depicts the timeless story of the pool party towel boy and towel girl trying to find love.
MAX "Gibberish" (feat. Hoodie Allen) [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
The world has watched MAX go from creating great covers on YouTube to releasing his own albums in just a few years. And now with director Greg Jardin and a little help from Hoodie Allen, MAX is moving on while the rest of the world around him is moving in reverse.
Megan Nicole "Escape" [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
On the heels of her recent single "Fun" -- which has been viewed more than 18 million times in the last two months alone -- Megan Nicole has created a beautiful, scenic music video. Directed by the Young Astronauts.
Migos "One Time" [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
What if you had a party so amazing that you wake up to learn the night before was frozen in time. Migos and director Ninan Doff are here to take you through this unique world of time tunnels, as the trio continues their rise to rap greatness.
Nicky Jam y Enrique Iglesias "El Perdón" [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
Even when you lose a loved one, their memory still stays with you, and Nicky Jam and Enrique Iglesias invite you on a memory lane trip through Medellin, Colombia. Directed by Creative Uprising, this collaboration brings together two of the biggest names in Latin music and has all the makings of a smash hit.
Shamir "Call It Off" [Official Music Video - YTMAs]
Shamir has been blowing up on YouTube on the regular and has now teamed up with Philip Hodges and Henson Studios to tell a tale about making people’s days just a little bit better ... by becoming puppets.
And that’s our show! Thank you to all the artists who made the 2015 YouTube Music Awards Show possible, and VICE for producing the show. And above all, thanks to all of you who make YouTube the ultimate home for music. Join the conversation online with #YTMA.
