I like the active sharing feature and glad that you can leave it on until signing out or closing the browser. The Full-Screen is also a much needed addition,great to be able to switch to full screen without disrupting the flow of the video. I do want to make one more suggestion..please let the directors make videos longer than 10 minutes! Keep the 100mb limit,but let the vids run past 10 minutes. I find it very annoying having to make two separate videos for an 11 or 12 minute video. Still,YouTube is great and the new additions and improvements are much appreciated!!
Very nice adding up to 25 people, it's really a nice adventure into the youtubeaverse to view what all the other youtubeions are watching: Yes I did use two words with youtube in them, they are now coined by me, nah not really but it was a nice cup of morning brew to think they were.
Having the vids appear at the top when we all click on the names is pretty convenient too :)
I know you guys do not want to have revenue sharing for everyone but there is a system that works and Metacafe already uses it. Revver's system obviously does not work.
Metacafe makes it so you have to get 20k views before you start earning, this is great because if it is in fact a bad "spam" video then it will not get those views to begin with. I find that metacafe's content is great even though some of the people's main goals are just to make money. Those people have great content!

In addition to these two bugs I'm now experiencing a third one ^^ I can't control my Active Sharing as usual... which means sometimes I just can't turn it on and sometimes I just can't turn it off. I have set "Keep Active Sharing on across sessions." And sometimes i am actively sharing, but up right i see that red light/button-thing and it says "Active Sharing Off"Sharing on across sessions."
The weekly subscription update is extremely nice. Plus, all notification mails have the right charset now, thanks! By the way (in case somebody really reads this), one thing I would like to see fixed is that since the April 26 update long custom descriptions in video logs get truncated (display only, in edit they're still complete). I simply can't post videos to my blog. It dont appears in my adress even though the message 'This video will appear in your blog shortly" or something like this! I wold like to know whats happening! Ok, so you have the section on a particular user's profile where you show what videos that user is watching. It might be a cool feature to also show what other users are watching videos by the user who's profile you are looking at. Just an idea.
I needed a way to contact you but can't find one on the main page so I decided to take this one. When I am Youtubing the name of my hometown "Bocholt" i find a lot of explicit content in form of Nazi Propaganda. I am very angry about this. Isn't there anything you can do to ban this material from your servers. There is already enough of that bullshit on private homepages. Don't let them spread there Information via the public pages, too.

Hello the person with the screen name nerdzrule is posting religious hate videos some of the time and does not allow people from other faiths to respond and defend there religion. He blocks people from other faiths that try to put a comment or respond to a false hate comment. Something needs to be done about this. You Tube should not allow biast one directional hatred. It should allow commen dialog. Thank you for your help.

I really think that YouTube has done a great job with all the new features. A lot of people were wondering when the Google deal would pay off. Well,I think you can see some of the fruits of that merger paying off now. The active sharing,new fullscreen option and it seems as if there is a new feature almost every week if not every other day. Just wanted to say that while I have been critical of the way YouTube selects its revenue players,I can also give a good compliment when deserved. YouTube is my favorite site on the net for entertainment and I really hope that the improvements continue. Great job guys,keep up the good work. Now about getting some of the controversial political pundits featured....
I think I have the same question as MoochFilms. Where is the box on my starting page showing recent videos from my subscriptions? Removing this is really baddddd. It will just make one have a reason less to spend time looking at the front page and therefore less inclined to click on one of the advertized videos. Put it back please, also for your own sake!

why not keep a revolving list of the last 25 users who viewed a given video instead of only listing them while they are watching.

ReplyDeleteI think I have the same question as MoochFilms. Where is the box on my starting page showing recent videos from my subscriptions? Removing this is really baddddd. It will just make one have a reason less to spend time looking at the front page and therefore less inclined to click on one of the advertized videos. Put it back please, also for your own sake!
