A very sad day indeed. I'm frantically downloading the videos from our YouTube channel here, but could somebody from Google help before the deadline?: http://www.youtube.com/azammarketing

Now that they have created the best thing ever, they plan on deleting it?! Isn't it time to reconsider. This platform is unending knowledge and creativity. DON'T TAKE IT AWAY!

First Google Reader, and now THIS. What are you going to shut down next, Google SEARCH?

This is the last straw. As of this April 1st, Google is officially dead to me.

Though it sounds like April fool joke but is it really???

With google one can NEVER be sure.

I remember, a few years ago they announced gmail, right on April 1. It was offering 500 times the storage Hotmail did and no folders but labels...

Sounded more like April fool joke than this blog sounds..

Yet we have gmail still ...

So download all your videos... just in case... I tell you... and best thing is to save them on gdrive of gmail.

    Best of luck.

As for me, I never use internet, email or smart phone.

I honestly dont understand. Youtube can't be just a contest. So much has been done...
Think of everything on youtube! Music videos, movie commercials, tv episodes, vlogs, school projects, the "weird" side of youtube with the crazy videos. Youtube is so much more then a website- it's a whole culture. People can connect from anywhere all over the world and watch videos. Sharing ideas and advartizing and making people laugh. It isn't worth it to shut it down.
I'm not joking when I say that my school uses youtube videos as part of the curriculum. Part 1 of videogame walkthroughs let me know if the game was worth while before buying. Critiques are both a laugh and interesting. Trolling was invented. Trolololo.
The list goes on and on and on. Ask yourself how much you have benefitted from youtube. Entertained and educated. They cant let it go!
Think of those kids who have had it for the majority or whole of their lives!!!

I hope this is just a big April Fools prank.

youtube makes like thousands of dollars a year...this doesnt make sense . . . . . .they should at least keep youtube. . .. and just choose the winner for the first video they see when they go to youtube site. ..

A CARD TO THE YOUTUBE OWNERS.
Reconsider your position before taking an action like this. Since its conception, this video platform was the ONLY way to draw people and catalyze their creativity, ideas and knowledge and show all of them to the world. Statistics reveal that now it has ONE BILLION subscribers (and still counting) and 72 hours of video uploaded every minute. And in major cases, subscribers uploaded tons of entertainment, culture and education, showing the world that OTHER TELEVISION was possible.
If you have the guts to keep YouTube on FOREVER, make a REALLY BIG favor to the Internet community and sell your enterprise to a company that can run the video platform without any problem. Or let the subscribers recover the videos uploaded to your platform - here are some alternatives like Vimeo or Dailymotion, that can serve as better as your one.
    Don't take this comment like a threat or a spam. It's a friend's tip.
    Sincerely
    EVADER

I cant go youtube from my computer since Sunday night for some reason. I've tried everything I can think of but something is blocking it and I'm at my wits end. I know this is probably not the right forum. But I'm having trouble finding the right forum.

    A Humble Request,
I am a great admirer of Google products but from past few weeks I changed my mind.

I am using BB 7.0 Curve.
The changes made by youtube ( I am sure that they definately changed something or everything as Check for Updates not working on BB7) are no more backward compatible.
    Impact on BB7:
    1) Searching a Video by its name is painful.
    2) At times Unauthorised Access comes.
    3) Not able to LogIn on youtube. A page comes with an OOP's Image.

PS: I am extremely sorry if this is not the right forum.
