What if you've previously uploaded a video that was too long at the time but would be fine now? I have one that still shows up in my video list, does that mean it can be enabled now? Or is that just a placeholder?
Back in Mid-July during the False DMCA Saga against gaming channels I received a false DMCA, I had it removed but it still damaged my creditability slightly, I mean everything is in good standing now, but will this, what can only be described as a hateful attack, ruin my chances of getting this feature? If so that it safely says that your DMCA system is flawed and that they blatantly won in ruining channel abilities. Please can someone in the know respond.
I'm sorry YouTube, but this is crap. Although it would help for my channel so much, I won't be able to upload videos longer than 15 minutes because of this unfair system that you've placed. You have not justified your reason for only giving this to people with no account strikes, just favouritism from what I'm gathering. This should be something for everyone, and if not now some time in the future it should be available for everyone. Please, hear me out.
Just so I understand correctly, only _some_ of the historically-compliant users are getting this upgrade right now? I hope that's the case, as I'm not one of the lucky few, and I've refrained form uploading my entire collection of Punky Brewster for years!
I can't believe this moment has finally come! I have been trying to stay out of trouble by uploading videos that I guarantee won't get me strikes, and I did my best to follow the Community Guidelines carefuly so I wouldn't violate them. And guess what? I'm SO grateful to be in for this treat! Thank you so much YouTube for allowing me to post videos that last for more than 15 minutes. You're really grateful to me!
Thank you - this is an excellent idea. One extension that I believe very valuable is, for videos that are longer than the previous 15:30 limit, to increase the character limit or comment flood limit for such videos according to their length. 1,000 for all such videos might be the first step, but maybe even more for very long videos.
We may have lots to say on particularly long videos, and feel constrained by the 500-character limit to either chop out important points, make them less clear, or post many comments in a row to include everything - which can be blocked by the flood count, forcing us to use the captcha several times.
I believe that if you consider our accounts trustworthy enough to not spam YouTube with videos lasting longer than Spock translating the Gettysburg Address into Klingon, we should also be trustworthy enough to control spam that might be contained in longer comment limits. Thank you, because this makes this place much easier to handle.
I really don't upload many videos (except those from a Mexican Comics Convention I attend), but this is really great for those who make movies and such =D
I hope I can Give it a Good Use in the Near Future =D
Just checked my account - techaudottv and its still limited to 15 minutes :( I'd really love to post my podcast (http://techAU.tv/podcast) to YouTube and share it with the world.
If anyone there could help out, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Doe"s This Include Us Past Partners Who Lost Out Adsense Followed By Partnership Due To Click Bombers Are we Invited To this Celebration? I Think You Might Want To Fix a Few Of The Old Problems Before You Create New Ones Google Just Saying.
This is awsome news, thanks youtube. This will realy cut down my part 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. and put them into 1 part. When you state *Your creativity isn’t bound by a time limit, so why should your video uploads be?* does that mean the selected users don't have a upload cap on their videos?
The problem I see is that 95% of what I produce has always been longer than 15 minutes, that's why I've had to (begrudgingly) stay away fro You Tube. How does a producer like me get in on this when I have no track record? I think You Tube should go the route of Blip.tv and Vimeo and restrict file size, but not length for all.
It probably going to take some time for all users to get to upload unlimited length videos. By the way, the size limit is 20GB with Java.
BE PATIENT folks. This isn't as simple as flipping a switch or pushing a button. YouTube is the most popular video sharing site. As big as YouTube is, things do take a while to happen.
Hi, I was wondering what the system YouTube use for selecting users is, I mean, I find it silly that I don't get picked and I have no strikes and my friends that have strikes and such are being picked.
I really need this upgrade as I plan to upload video game commentary and the 15 minute limit is a real pain as I have to cut the videos and render separate parts.
Hopefully someone from Google will take notice of this.
Wonderful! I just found this message: "Congratulations! Your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes. Click the Upload button below to select a video."
Thank you so much to all the wonderful staff of YouTube to give us the opportunity to upload videos longer than 15 minutes, for me specially is useful because I give free lessons of painting in Spanish and English simultaneously to so many people that need it and have not the money or the opportunity to assist to painting workshops or art schools. Again, thank you! Alex Perez, (artist - painter)
Can anyone tell me how it is supposed to look when you are allowed over 15 minutes? Is there like some banner on the upload page that tells you or something?
you know how i tell everyone they cant go more then 10min. next thing i know it is 15min. than smack. no real limit for all the good boy and girl. (o.O) that not only made me happy but i need to have a party at home. now i can do artwork on video with out going in mad speed or cutting out part. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
What about brand new users? Do they have to upload, say one video of completely original content, in order to receive this feature?
I have a completely clean account from back in 2006, with no videos uploaded and I don't have the feature on it. I don't plan to use that account, but will new users get this feature or do we have to upload an original video first?
I'm part of the group who received a false DMCA notice and successfully counter-claimed on it. My copyright standing and community guidelines standing both say that I'm fine, with no strikes or reports on either of them.
Please fix it to only count ACTIVE strikes, not ones that were removed for being illegal claims by other parties.
What is the "Spock translating the Gettysburg Address into Klingon" reference? Did Spock do that? If not, wouldn't it be more logical for Spock to translate it into Vulcan? Don't the Klingons have their own translators?
Sure is nice when somebody with an itchy trigger finger files a copyright claim against you and then promptly stops caring about the matter.
And then Youtube rolls out all these awesome features and you're hosed because the company with an itchy trigger finger all those years ago refuses to return your emails and get the matter sorted out.
I also don't have it. Although I have three accounts (of which one is my company's AdWords-account with more than $ 50.000 for Google per anno). If that doesn't make it a trusted account, what else does?
I have been waiting for this for a very long time. Now I can post my race reviews in one full video, and perhaps live broadcasts in one single video! :D
I still dont have it, I've never got a DMCA or been suspended (One video wasnt availble in some countrys, but I got it filled out) is it because of that one video? I feel sad and left out. Thanks alot youtube.
I have TWO STRIKES against my account, but have still been given the ability to upload unlimited video lengths. I've just uploaded my first long video, a public domain classic movie.
Yes, only some Youtubers who got the blue message (when you click the Upload button) can get that feature. Don't give up, try day by day to see if you got it!
This is a hugely important development for cash strapped city/county governments wanting to reach their residents across all web platforms. Thanks YouTube!
I have one strike on my account from 2006. Why do I qualify to upload videos longer than 15 minutes but I don't qualify to unlist my videos? I would think the same criteria would be used.
Thank you for the longer uploads! I have a small glitch: due to the large amount of material I have, I created two affiliated accounts - CallasatJuilliard and Bayreuthathon - which I have not used until now... Would it be possible to get these unlimited as well?
I just learned of this pleasing development when I went to look at my upload page. I'm not aware of the new video length limit (if there even is one?) & I have a 2 year old copyright strike. Strange to see completely clean people appear to miss out and have red marked people like myself accepted in :O
I got the message saying, "Congratulations! Your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes. Click the Upload button below to select a video." However, a 6 hours video was just rejected due to length. I'm confused.
I love that there is no time limit (somewhat) but I hate that YouTube is playing favorites. I just started uploading last month and have no strikes or any red marks. But I still can't upload more than 15:30 while the guy with 5,000 subscribers and a couple legitimate strikes can upload whatever they want. Can't stand this. Even though YouTube is the largest video site, after a week or so of allowing this feature, you'd think that they would sort this kind of stuff out.
Still can't upload videos logner than 15 minutes. :\ Youtube, is there some extra criteria we need to meet, like a certain number of subscribers? Or are you being idiots and doing it all by hand instead of writing a quick program to loop through the users, check their copyright status, and award the no time limit to them? It shouldn't be that hard. My account is LetsPlayAutism
Hey Google, can you allow unlimited file size as well? Since most videos would be over 2 GB's if they're longer than 15 minutes, unless it's a black screen. Thanks for the unlimited video time, I was surprised to see that.
Hmm.. My account was updated and allowed me to upload a video longer then 15 minutes last week.. but tried a different video this week and it was rejected as being too long. What gives.. was this feature rolled back?
Im just wondering does anyone know what the limit is or is it unlimited? I've been doing an experiment to see how much I can load but this could shorten how long i have to sit here for
Guys, if you don't have any video. You won't be having this feature because YouTube does not know yet how will you use your account in your first video..
You need to have a good amount of video for YouTube to review your account in order to get you approve!
I agree with some of the above folks. It'd be nice if there was an ETA before everyone with an account in good standing recieves the uplifted time limit. It would also be nice to know if there are any secondary conditions, such as how new an account is or how many subscribers/views an account has. Your blog announcement is just too vague.
I had it, now i don't have it. Got the message, uploaded a 75 minute video, OK. This was 2-3 days ago. Last night uploaded a 55 minute clip and after upload it's says it was rejected because it's to long.
There's more ways to upload more than 15 minutes besides this. people who even have a strike can still do this if they're partnered to like some popular group like if you upload game footage you might be able to upload some stuff to Machinima and able to upload any length which in turn you'll become a partnered to Machinima.
I haven't had a single copyright strike on one of my videos for months, when I did, I instantly took the video down or just audioswapped it. A 17-minute long video I uploaded a few days ago got rejected, but I've been complying with youtube's rules for a long time now and I don't understand why I can't have this 15-minute limit removed. Thanks, please fix this if you can.
I just stayed up all night trying to upload a 22 min video after a friend told me about this. However, I found out afterwords that it was only certain people. I have never done anything wrong, had any warnings etc... and yet I'm still not allowed this feature?
My current series will be kinda ruined unless I can upload that video, and I don't see why my account wasn't enabled for this when I have done absolutely nothing wrong... :(
I am very pleased that You Tube no longer has a time limit for uploads. Before, when I made videos offline with my webcamb, many times it was over 15 minutes. So I had record the video again. But now I no longer have to worry about that. And You Tube is the most watched channel on the Internet. So it is the best place to make longer videos.Andrea Borman.
It is really great to have this option. I have a friend who is documentary produce so he asks me to upload his movies to YouTube for anyone to see. So the "more than 15 minutes" option is really great!
I think the option to upload videos for more than 15 minutes on You Tube does not work for new users who have just opened a You Tube account. Maybe that is why the more than 15 mins does not work for you at the moment J. but I have been with You Tube for quite a long time so i am an old customer. But if I opened a second You Tube account, I probably would not be able to upload videos longer than 15 minutes, because it is a new account. I think that the more than 15 minutes upload may only be for people who have been with You Tube for a longer time than say 1 month. Andrea Borman.
I just clicked on "Upload a video", got the message "Congratulations! You can now upload videos longer then 15 minutes!", uploaded a video that was 20 minutes long and the video gets rejected because it is too long. Are you kidding me?
Same problem. This new 'priviledge' has been applied inconsistently & isn't working for everyone. Some have apparently lost it without warning simply for deleting existing videos (ie parts) & trying to replace them with full videos, etc. I seen the banner on my original account (practically abandoned), it has less than 60 subscribers, just a few thousand views & was created in 2007.
My newer account has many thousands of views, over 500 subscribers, many more videos & no strikes, either. There are two Content ID matches which are news segments (unargueably Fair Use) & the dispute process on each concluded with the copyright holder(s) *agreeing* with my dispute - so they're okay. This is the case on the original channel, also.
I didn't have the chance to see if I could *actually* upload videos in excess of 15 minutes on the original account, 'NxTC1275' after seeing the banner, because it disappeared. I may have been subject to the problem others noticed, because I deleted some older videos (that I intended to host exclusively on the newer channel) before attempting to upload something longer than 15 minutes - & it fails, rejected due to length.
The 'replacement' channel I've considered to be 'permanent' is WACWichita.
WTH, YouTube? If this is not just a programmatic problem & is somehow a silent set of policies you're enforcing, why aren't you giving us a heads-up on the conditions for using it? Or is this just an engineering/IT issue that we're seeing?
I don't get it, but I wasted alot of time re-producing an existing set of parts into whole videos, spent hours rendering them into full-length videos & subsequently uploading them only to find that they are not being accepted.
No one like a tease. Please follow-through or don't mislead us. Grr.
Yeah, I'm in the same boat as a few others. I'm uploading the rest of my oldie episodes to my old account, and had already announced that new stuff would be going to my new account. But it turns out my new account doesn't have the limit removed. Being my new account was only created last September, I rather wonder if that's a factor.
It'd be nice to know, because I'd rather not be forced to split all my episodes into multiple pieces again. Once I left YouTube for that very reason, and I was about to leave YouTube again just before the limit was uplifted.
Oh well, I don't have to worry about it until April. Maybe the limit removal will come around to me by then.
Im from 2007 and i have no marks at all, and i can't upload a 01:16:31 minute movie. It only wasted an hour to capture, 3 to edit, and 3 to render, thanks a lot.
I can not more uplaud more then 15 minutes video? Why is the acces deleted? My other account had a problem with the Community Guideline or Copyright strikes? And now I have now a limit on my video. How can I get it back?
What else besides a clean record must you have to be approved? What about new members? Must you have been a member for a specified amount of time? Must you have a certain number of uploads? Does content come into consideration as well? We're not being given the full story here.... It would be nice to know how one might go about working toward achieving this new feature of Youtube.
i had the limit removed even i have 2 strikes, so i uploaded 3 30min vids they didnt match any 3rd party content, but now 2 days later i have the limit again what gives? come on youtube
AFter having it for over a month my account lost its unlimited status even though none of my vidoes have been flagged. I have 9 vidoes that are way over 15mins to upload and now all the time that webt into making them has been made useless. How do I get it back
I've just tried to upload a 2.15hour video and my video was rejected because it was 'Rejected (length of video is too long)' - I too had the limit removed but now I can no longer upload videos longer than 15 minutes; right now I am waiting a week and if things don't change then I'll be moving to Vimeo - once again YouTube shows they're a pack of incompetent halfwitts unable to run a website with all the talent they have under one roof.
I HAD the feature. I tried to upload an episode of Bob Ross (Well yeah didn't have much else to upload...) 25 minutes long... Rejected because of being too long. So I deleted every single video that even had a slight problem of copyright infringement (Which sucks, those were beautiful video's)... And now I still can't upload longer than 15 minutes.
YouTube sucks. I already knew it after that flood of ads before videos, I knew it after Vevo... But now I really start to hate YouTube.
I was very excited when I was suddenly given this feature - I work really hard on my youtube (2WAYFM) account and the 'beyond 15 minutes' feature was incredibly important for my social interviews. However, the feature was suddenly removed from my account without explanation. I am pretty crushed and wish I could have it back. I don't even know why it went . . . We do videos which try to help the community keep informed.
If you deleted any videos recently or before. Try and upload the same amount you deleted and you should get the feature back. If that doesn't work I'm sorry =(
Got this announcement that my limit is lifted from the time limit this morning. I did nothing to get it.
I also have an older copyright infringement ID content match on my account that got the audio removed, but it was years ago and my account is in good standing. It was the one only violation. I tried to get permission from the artist, didn't get it.. and so I admitted defeat and switched to one of their awesome songs. LOL
(I do have one video currently blocked in a few countries, but I am contesting it as fair use. YouTube isn't asking that I do anything for that one though, it specifically said you don't have to do anything about this. (so why are you telling me? Oh yes. Because I'm losing subscribers from other countries, gotchya.)
I have not yet tried to upload a longer video or lost the ability to do so. I'll report back if that happens. I just wanted to let people know that at least one content ID match isn't going to stop you from getting the upgrade to longer video times. (at least in my case it apparently did not.)
I hope I can somehow get it. I don't break the guidlines whatsoever and I'm just a Let's Player, who would like to upload video's longer that 15 minutes. One of my episodes, is like 30 minutes long. :)
I had the permission to upload videos longer than 15 minutes (in another account, not this one). I didn't need it until now. I uploaded 1 video today of 15:39 minutes and it was rejected. Why did it desappear this unbound limit of time? Am I going to have it again? Thanks.
I have been a member of YouTube since 2007 and have never had any strikes against me in copyright and my account has always been in good standing in terms of community guidelines but I still can't upload videos longer than 15 minutes. What the hell? http://youtube.com/runekey
i really want to upload 15min+ videos i've never posted any copyright videos or anything agains the rules(I think) so plz youtube give me the ability to make 15min+ videos youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/minecraftdevelopment
"I had the permission to upload videos longer than 15 minutes (in another account, not this one). I didn't need it until now. I uploaded 1 video today of 15:39 minutes and it was rejected. Why did it desappear this unbound limit of time? Am I going to have it again? Thanks."
My Channel "TehGimpsters" has 35 Subscribers, and 40 Videos. It was made on Feb 16, 2011. I still cannot upload videos longer than 15 minutes, it says my account is in good standing. Help.
In case those having trouble uploading longer than 15 minutes have not done this already, the first step is to go to your Channel view, under Settings button and choose "Director" as Channel Type from the drop down box. This enabled longer video uploads for me.
I dont have this. I know its a lot, but for about a month Ive abided by the rules and regulations in the Community guidelines and the copyright. I think that you are the one group who has useful rules. They are very specified, and I will always follow them. I do NOT have this feature. PLEASE check out my videos and please unlimit m videos to longer than 15 minutes. Thank you and God bless.
i agree with bionicle2809 as he said...
I recently when I was gonna upload a Portal 2 Video I made, it said: "Congratulations! Your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes. Click the Upload button below to select a video."
So I uploaded my 18 min Video and it uploaded and plays just fine. If you don't believe me, it's here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=389exQQYxzo
I'm seriously annoyed right now. MAY I PLEASE GET UNLIMITED TIME FOR MY VIDS? I've waited for three months and I have no copyright strikes. This is like, a call to YouTube to review my channel since you have no request system.
We need to have longer than 15 minutes as we have video productions we want to upload, some come up to 50 minutes! We cant submit to machinima as they don't accept files larger than 500mb, We want to upload fullHD content. please grant us Unlimited Upload please,
We have no strikes or copyright messages of any kind
I was able to upload long videos, but now I can't. The short videos I upload don't have any thumbnails. Can someone help me with this, who should I talk to? I can't even report the bug (tried differenet computers, different browsers). My username is veselinm86.
i want to upload longer videos so that my subs will be happier and make the jobb of making videos easier. so that i dont have to render 6 videos each time i record. with 15+ videos i only need to render like 3. i dont have any copyright. it says "Your account is in good standing." so please youtube let me upload longer videos!
I'm at my wits end here. I really didn't want to resort to this, but I don't know what else I have to do to get the unlimited time on my videos as well.
http://www.youtube.com/user/MisterOhma
Yes, I too post video game related stuff. Who doesn't (at least until Congress has their way)? However, I am in good standing with copyrights, same as, apparently, everyone else who's posted here. I have been for as long as this deal has been going on. So I believe that I finally deserve a little love as well as far as this goes.
I've been good and I plan on staying good. PLEASE let me upload videos longer than 15 minutes.
It does seem rather a waste of everyone's time "trying" to upload long videos just to see if it now works or not. Either we have extended length or not, it should be as simple as that. It surely is not beyond the possibilities for YouTube to add an indicator to your upload option to indicate this is now possible?
The whole seems hit and miss in an attempt to upload videos of longer duration. For some people, it's pointless having an account if they can't upload the complete video,
I have a youtube video I made MYSELF just over 15 minutes, and the Youtube admins still won't let me upload it. How long does one have to wait? 5 years? 10 years?
Youtube are rubbing salt in the wounds for those who have videos just over 15 minutes, by snowboating the 10 minute limit to 15. May be one millennium down the line, You Tube will finally allow all users who's account are in good standard (i.e my one) to upload more than 15 minute.
I still can't do it, and I don't have any stryke. Also, there are people with some strykes and they can, any help? :/
ReplyDeleteNice , Youtube is the Best :D
ReplyDeleteWhat if you've previously uploaded a video that was too long at the time but would be fine now? I have one that still shows up in my video list, does that mean it can be enabled now? Or is that just a placeholder?
ReplyDeletePersonally like to keep our videos short, but this is great for everyone else!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteThis is obviously very awesome, and a really nice initiative.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I am struggling to find the actual limit of videos we can upload. Our upload page still say 15 minutes.
So how long is the actual limit now?
ReplyDeleteYES Thank you Youtube

ReplyDeleteSo what will happen if a user with the limit removed gets a strike, do they take away the privilege or what?
ReplyDeleteHurrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!
ReplyDeleteUh... and those who got a CR warning for using a song years ago but it is fixed?
ReplyDeleteJust so I understand correctly, only _some_ of the historically-compliant users are getting this upgrade right now? I hope that's the case, as I'm not one of the lucky few, and I've refrained form uploading my entire collection of Punky Brewster for years!

ReplyDeleteThis is awesome news! Exactly how long are we talking? How much longer than 15 minutes???
ReplyDeleteawesome, now people can upload mp3s with a still picture and have them loop for hours!
ReplyDelete60 FPS?
*tumbleweed*
I love you YouTube.
ReplyDeleteJust saw this for our City Youtube account... What is the new limit then? Minutes/Size?
ReplyDeletehow would you know if you can upload longer than 15:30 minutes?
ReplyDeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteI really don't upload many videos (except those from a Mexican Comics Convention I attend), but this is really great for those who make movies and such =D
I hope I can Give it a Good Use in the Near Future =D
If I audio-swap all my old ID matched videos, will that make YouTube finally love me?
ReplyDeleteOH HELL YES! Best thing to happen to youtube in YEARS!! Thank you! :D
ReplyDeleteAwesome news, I just posted a video about this.
ReplyDeleteJust checked my account - techaudottv and its still limited to 15 minutes :( I'd really love to post my podcast (http://techAU.tv/podcast) to YouTube and share it with the world.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone there could help out, it'd be greatly appreciated.
So wait..anyone can upload now but they have to have copyright issues all clean in their account??
ReplyDeleteCool. A+++

i have two strikes on my account yes i got appproved :P
ReplyDeleteI still don't have it...
ReplyDeletehow come my account didn't get the message and I have no strikes what so ever.
ReplyDeleteAwesome news! I wanted partnership just for this purpose in the past! What is the new limit though?
ReplyDeleteI went to upload and I got this o.O and I have two copyright strikes so I was/am even more confused.
ReplyDeletestill haven't got it...
ReplyDeleteIf people would stop uploading content that WASN'T theirs in the first place, Google/YouTube wouldn't have to go to these lengths!
ReplyDeleteThere are hundreds upon thousands of users that post content that is legitimately theirs and have never had problems.
"selected users"? Why not allow ALL users in good standing?
ReplyDeleteAwesome, now I can post full length Family Guy episodes on here!
ReplyDelete;D just kidding, haha
New File size is 20GB, video duration/length not specified
ReplyDeleteThanks!! I'll start uploading then!
ReplyDeleteThis is awsome news, thanks youtube.
ReplyDeleteThis will realy cut down my part 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. and put them into 1 part.
When you state *Your creativity isn’t bound by a time limit, so why should your video uploads be?* does that mean the selected users don't have a upload cap on their videos?
cool. i found out 10 min. ago that i could upload vids. longer that 15min. and was wondering why. this answered it for me.

ReplyDeleteYes! Gonna take Youtube that notch further still ahead of Dailymotion :-) Thanks !
ReplyDeletetechAU, I have the same problem!
ReplyDeleteThat's great for users who have the functionality, but for the other, this is crap!
awesome!! I have it, and I love it!
ReplyDeleteOnly one of my accounts got it though :P
I waited 4 years for this feature, an today's my lucky day.
ReplyDeleteThanks YouTube, you're awesome!
I Like It. thx!
ReplyDeleteWow... AWESOME PURE!
ReplyDeleteYouTube rules .__.
THANK YOU YOUTUBE! I've waited YEARS for this!!!
ReplyDeleteBut just like the rest of the individuals who asked; exactly how long is the limit now?
It probably going to take some time for all users to get to upload unlimited length videos. By the way, the size limit is 20GB with Java.
ReplyDeleteBE PATIENT folks.
ReplyDeleteI really need this upgrade as I plan to upload video game commentary and the 15 minute limit is a real pain as I have to cut the videos and render separate parts.
Hopefully someone from Google will take notice of this.
Luigi39000vr~
How do I upload videos longer than 15 min. Please help.
ReplyDeleteIs there no actual time limit now? Well, besides the 2GB filesize limit.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I just found this message:
ReplyDelete"Congratulations! Your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes. Click the Upload button below to select a video."
Thank you youtube!
ReplyDeleteAgain, thank you!
Alex Perez, (artist - painter)
THANK YOU!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm uploading one as I type.
Can anyone tell me how it is supposed to look when you are allowed over 15 minutes? Is there like some banner on the upload page that tells you or something?
ReplyDeleteyou know how i tell everyone they cant go more then 10min. next thing i know it is 15min. than smack. no real limit for all the good boy and girl. (o.O) that not only made me happy but i need to have a party at home. now i can do artwork on video with out going in mad speed or cutting out part.
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you!!!
i have this, i think they make exceptions for strikes older than 1 to 2 years.
ReplyDeleteWhat about brand new users? Do they have to upload, say one video of completely original content, in order to receive this feature?
ReplyDeleteI have a completely clean account from back in 2006, with no videos uploaded and I don't have the feature on it. I don't plan to use that account, but will new users get this feature or do we have to upload an original video first?
How will we be notified by youtube that our show can be upload for longer than 15 mins?
ReplyDeletePLEASE! I CAN'T DO IT AND I HAVE NO STRIKES! PLEASE I HAVE A MOVIE I WANNA UPLOAD AND I CAN'T! PLEASE LET ME DO IT!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm part of the group who received a false DMCA notice and successfully counter-claimed on it. My copyright standing and community guidelines standing both say that I'm fine, with no strikes or reports on either of them.
ReplyDeletePlease fix it to only count ACTIVE strikes, not ones that were removed for being illegal claims by other parties.
So it's a 2 gig limit and not a time limit?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the "Spock translating the Gettysburg Address into Klingon" reference? Did Spock do that? If not, wouldn't it be more logical for Spock to translate it into Vulcan? Don't the Klingons have their own translators?
ReplyDeleteAwesome. Don't have to worry about pesky time limits as I'm in the clear on copyrights and community guidelines.
ReplyDeleteI just got it and posted a 19:12 video. (19 minutes and 12 seconds)
ReplyDeletei still do not have it, and i did not try to upload any movie before!
ReplyDeleteSure is nice when somebody with an itchy trigger finger files a copyright claim against you and then promptly stops caring about the matter.
ReplyDeleteAnd then Youtube rolls out all these awesome features and you're hosed because the company with an itchy trigger finger all those years ago refuses to return your emails and get the matter sorted out.
Could you open it for all the community?
ReplyDeleteThis is great! Thanks YouTube! :D
ReplyDeleteI also don't have it. Although I have three accounts (of which one is my company's AdWords-account with more than $ 50.000 for Google per anno). If that doesn't make it a trusted account, what else does?
ReplyDeleteIF ONLY I COULD HAVE IT! I HAVE NO STRIKES AND I DON'T HAVE IT >O
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes. Click the Upload button below to select a video.
ReplyDeleteWell my account says in good standing and I still dont have it.
ReplyDeleteI have been waiting for this for a very long time. Now I can post my race reviews in one full video, and perhaps live broadcasts in one single video! :D
ReplyDeleteI still dont have it, I've never got a DMCA or been suspended (One video wasnt availble in some countrys, but I got it filled out) is it because of that one video?
ReplyDeleteI feel sad and left out.
Thanks alot youtube.
I have TWO STRIKES against my account, but have still been given the ability to upload unlimited video lengths. I've just uploaded my first long video, a public domain classic movie.
ReplyDeleteyay!
ReplyDeleteYes, only some Youtubers who got the blue message (when you click the Upload button) can get that feature. Don't give up, try day by day to see if you got it!
ReplyDeleteThis is kool. I would like 2 start making short films & this would b great 4 that. Nice 1.
ReplyDeleteI got that! Yay!
ReplyDeleteI have no strikes but I can only upload 15 minutes. Why is this?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much youtube for the longer video uploads.
ReplyDeleteThe time limit is 3:59:59 -
ReplyDeletewatch?v=E0fek9dEBdY
The gb limit is 20 (if you're using java).
Thank you Youtube - I've had a couple of ideas for videos that would end up being rather long so this works out perfectly. *bow* Rock on!
ReplyDelete...not to mention that little notification when checking my account made me tingle a bit. lol
"Congratulations! Your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes. Click the Upload button below to select a video."
ReplyDeleteHURRRRAYYYYYYYY Xd =)
i got a strike form an ancient video just a few months before this launched. How does it affect my chances of getting approved?
ReplyDeletei had it yesterday now its gone i didnt upload anything today or yesterday. Please youtube
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten any strikes, I never trolled anyone and I haven't claimed anoyone else's videos as my own.
ReplyDeleteYet I'm still limited to 15 minutes
I just get a notice that i now able to upload that 15 minutes. nice. Thanks mr Youtube!
ReplyDeleteWonderful !!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great service
Please I want able to upload that 15 minutes !! My account is EricDraven64 :'(
ReplyDeleteThis is a hugely important development for cash strapped city/county governments wanting to reach their residents across all web platforms. Thanks YouTube!
ReplyDeleteI have one strike on my account from 2006.
ReplyDeleteWhy do I qualify to upload videos longer than 15 minutes but I don't qualify to unlist my videos? I would think the same criteria would be used.
Thank you for the longer uploads!
ReplyDeleteI have a small glitch: due to the large amount of material I have, I created two affiliated accounts - CallasatJuilliard and Bayreuthathon - which I have not used until now... Would it be possible to get these unlimited as well?
Thanks,
Operalala
Problem, I am now deciding to post videos on YT and I can't upload longer than 15min. Why?
ReplyDeleteI just learned of this pleasing development when I went to look at my upload page. I'm not aware of the new video length limit (if there even is one?) & I have a 2 year old copyright strike. Strange to see completely clean people appear to miss out and have red marked people like myself accepted in :O
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the video size can be bigger than 2GB for those who can upload more than 15 minutes.
ReplyDeleteyoutube is one amazing community.
ReplyDeleteGogogogo
Haha, I'm gonna upload a 1.3 hour marathon of a playlist I made entirely originally.
ReplyDeleteThat's another good step in the right direction. Problem is, I'm waiting for unlimited upload limit to CREATE the account! >_<
ReplyDeleteAnd the most frustrating part is, during my lunch break I always see people watching anime or TV shows split in multiple parts on YouTube.
Isn't it obvious that people don't care about splitting copyrighted videos into multiple parts but do care keeping it whole for their own work?
I got the message saying, "Congratulations! Your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes. Click the Upload button below to select a video." However, a 6 hours video was just rejected due to length. I'm confused.
ReplyDeleteI love that there is no time limit (somewhat) but I hate that YouTube is playing favorites.
ReplyDeleteHuh, 2 strikes within the last couple months and I still got it.
ReplyDeleteHow long is "longer" anyways? 20 minutes on the dime?
Still can't upload videos logner than 15 minutes. :\ Youtube, is there some extra criteria we need to meet, like a certain number of subscribers? Or are you being idiots and doing it all by hand instead of writing a quick program to loop through the users, check their copyright status, and award the no time limit to them? It shouldn't be that hard.
ReplyDeleteMy account is LetsPlayAutism
How much longer must I wait? Is there requirements for a clean account? Do I need to hit a certain mark or something?
ReplyDeleteHey Google, can you allow unlimited file size as well? Since most videos would be over 2 GB's if they're longer than 15 minutes, unless it's a black screen. Thanks for the unlimited video time, I was surprised to see that.
ReplyDeleteHmm.. My account was updated and allowed me to upload a video longer then 15 minutes last week.. but tried a different video this week and it was rejected as being too long. What gives.. was this feature rolled back?
ReplyDeleteMy account is in good standing btw.
Im just wondering does anyone know what the limit is or is it unlimited? I've been doing an experiment to see how much I can load but this could shorten how long i have to sit here for
ReplyDeleteGuys, if you don't have any video. You won't be having this feature because YouTube does not know yet how will you use your account in your first video..
ReplyDeleteYou need to have a good amount of video for YouTube to review your account in order to get you approve!
I work for google and I am much heard about this.
I want this please?
ReplyDeleteI agree with some of the above folks. It'd be nice if there was an ETA before everyone with an account in good standing recieves the uplifted time limit. It would also be nice to know if there are any secondary conditions, such as how new an account is or how many subscribers/views an account has. Your blog announcement is just too vague.
ReplyDeleteI had it, now i don't have it.
ReplyDeleteGot the message, uploaded a 75 minute video, OK.
This was 2-3 days ago. Last night uploaded a 55 minute clip and after upload it's says it was rejected because it's to long.
So, what's happening ?
There's more ways to upload more than 15 minutes besides this. people who even have a strike can still do this if they're partnered to like some popular group like if you upload game footage you might be able to upload some stuff to Machinima and able to upload any length which in turn you'll become a partnered to Machinima.
ReplyDeleteCan you make my account upload more than 15 mins?
ReplyDeleteYT: RespawnTheReeses
Then does this mean we are getting recognition(The selected ones) and are a step closer to partnership ? please reply^^"! O_O!
ReplyDeleteThanks YouTube!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a single copyright strike on one of my videos for months, when I did, I instantly took the video down or just audioswapped it. A 17-minute long video I uploaded a few days ago got rejected, but I've been complying with youtube's rules for a long time now and I don't understand why I can't have this 15-minute limit removed. Thanks, please fix this if you can.
ReplyDeleteMy youtube username: marqueskart
I just stayed up all night trying to upload a 22 min video after a friend told me about this. However, I found out afterwords that it was only certain people. I have never done anything wrong, had any warnings etc... and yet I'm still not allowed this feature?
ReplyDeleteMy current series will be kinda ruined unless I can upload that video, and I don't see why my account wasn't enabled for this when I have done absolutely nothing wrong... :(
I am very pleased that You Tube no longer has a time limit for uploads. Before, when I made videos offline with my webcamb, many times it was over 15 minutes. So I had record the video again. But now I no longer have to worry about that. And You Tube is the most watched channel on the Internet. So it is the best place to make longer videos.Andrea Borman.
ReplyDeleteIt is really great to have this option. I have a friend who is documentary produce so he asks me to upload his movies to YouTube for anyone to see. So the "more than 15 minutes" option is really great!
ReplyDeleteMy youtube account says it's in good standing in community guidelines and copyright, but I don't have the feature?
ReplyDeleteI think the option to upload videos for more than 15 minutes on You Tube does not work for new users who have just opened a You Tube account.
ReplyDeleteI have to strikes and I am allowed to upload clips over 15 minutes.I don't think it's about the strikes
ReplyDeleteHey, I tried posting a 15 min+ video of stepmania songs and it didn't allow me yet you said I can. Whats going on? D:
ReplyDeleteI just clicked on "Upload a video", got the message "Congratulations! You can now upload videos longer then 15 minutes!", uploaded a video that was 20 minutes long and the video gets rejected because it is too long.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me?
Same problem. This new 'priviledge' has been applied inconsistently & isn't working for everyone. Some have apparently lost it without warning simply for deleting existing videos (ie parts) & trying to replace them with full videos, etc. I seen the banner on my original account (practically abandoned), it has less than 60 subscribers, just a few thousand views & was created in 2007.
ReplyDeleteMy newer account has many thousands of views, over 500 subscribers, many more videos & no strikes, either.
Grr.
Same here, Carsten. It seems youtube is rejecting long videos again?
ReplyDeleteI got the banner congratulating me for being able to upload beyond 15 minutes, and a 20-minute video I uploaded after was rejected.
ReplyDeleteChannel is 'CanadiensUnplugged'.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be nice to know, because I'd rather not be forced to split all my episodes into multiple pieces again.
ReplyDeleteNot Working for me please help
ReplyDeleteI need help I can't do it
ReplyDeleteI can not more uplaud more then 15 minutes video? Why is the acces deleted? My other account had a problem with the Community Guideline or Copyright strikes? And now I have now a limit on my video. How can I get it back?
ReplyDeleteWhat else besides a clean record must you have to be approved? What about new members? Must you have been a member for a specified amount of time? Must you have a certain number of uploads? Does content come into consideration as well? We're not being given the full story here.... It would be nice to know how one might go about working toward achieving this new feature of Youtube.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Funny, I never knew the limit went from 10 to 15 minutes, and then suddenly I got the "Congratulations..." message saying I could do over 15!
ReplyDeleteI was curious about how much over, and started reading on forums. It seems that the limit is primarily by file size (2GB or 20GB if you use Java?).
It also seems that you need to be careful and avoid deleting previous videos, or you may lose the priveledge.
In any event, this sounds wonderful and I can't wait to test it. Thanks, YouTube!
Hi YouTube,
ReplyDeletemy account (halo2pc) has currently the following infos:
Channel views: 46,533
Total upload views: 1,796,294
Subscribers: 703
I do not have any strikes and neither any content ID matches.
Why am I still limited to 15 minutes ?
As I am an active YouTuber, I'd like to upload videos between 30 and 50 minutes please.
Can this be done please ?
Thank you
I just saw it, way to go YouTube....
ReplyDeletei had the limit removed even i have 2 strikes, so i uploaded 3 30min vids they didnt match any 3rd party content, but now 2 days later i have the limit again what gives? come on youtube
ReplyDeleteAFter having it for over a month my account lost its unlimited status even though none of my vidoes have been flagged. I have 9 vidoes that are way over 15mins to upload and now all the time that webt into making them has been made useless. How do I get it back
ReplyDeleteI once had this 15-minute limit removed, but as of today, the limit was re-instated.
ReplyDeleteAnd the channel name is "SSJ5G".
ReplyDeleteI've just tried to upload a 2.15hour video and my video was rejected because it was 'Rejected (length of video is too long)' - I too had the limit removed but now I can no longer upload videos longer than 15 minutes; right now I am waiting a week and if things don't change then I'll be moving to Vimeo - once again YouTube shows they're a pack of incompetent halfwitts unable to run a website with all the talent they have under one roof.
ReplyDeleteMy ability randomly vanished for no reason! I want it back youtube this isn't fair, this really cripples my channel!
ReplyDeleteMy account too has got back 15min. limit. Why? :(
ReplyDeleteWhat if i uploaded a video that infringed copyright, but took it down; do i get my over 15 minutes back?
ReplyDeleteI've been on Youtube since ten days...how much I must wait to get this feature?
ReplyDeleteI HAD the feature.
ReplyDeleteYouTube sucks.
ReplyDeletei have no strikes but i still cant upload vidoes past 15 minutes. why? :(
ReplyDelete@khbbrox
ReplyDeleteYou have to be selected to upload videos longer than 15 minutes. People were chosen back Dec 2010, obviously...
@tjpbpaperboy
ReplyDeleteIf you deleted any videos recently or before.
Try and upload the same amount you deleted and you should get the feature back. If that doesn't work I'm sorry =(
i was able to upload up to an hour long but all of a sudden been knocked back down to 15 min??
ReplyDeletei had the ability before, but all of a sudden, it's GONE.
ReplyDeleteI hate that it's gone, and youtube ain't talkin. :|
I'm tempted to send an email.
April 2....I just lost my longer upload ability.
ReplyDeletehad it last night. Boom. No explanation. Can anyone find out why this is happening??
So deleting my 2 hour test video was what broke it for me? Dammit, 15 minutes just isn't enough time.
ReplyDeleteHow exactly do you get this? -.-
ReplyDeleteGot this announcement that my limit is lifted from the time limit this morning. I did nothing to get it.
ReplyDeleteI also have an older copyright infringement ID content match on my account that got the audio removed, but it was years ago and my account is in good standing.
ReplyDeleteThis is very weird. Youtube's taken away my unlimited length privileges all of a sudden. All my 15+ minute videos are still up, though.
ReplyDeleteWhat's going on, Youtube?
Guys i dont get it, why cant i upload more than 15:00 mins?!?! Why, I see Other People Record Longer! what the heck??
ReplyDeleteWhy Cant i D:
ReplyDeleteI had the permission to upload videos longer than 15 minutes (in another account, not this one). I didn't need it until now. I uploaded 1 video today of 15:39 minutes and it was rejected. Why did it desappear this unbound limit of time? Am I going to have it again? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI have been a member of YouTube since 2007 and have never had any strikes against me in copyright and my account has always been in good standing in terms of community guidelines but I still can't upload videos longer than 15 minutes. What the hell? http://youtube.com/runekey
ReplyDeletei really want to upload 15min+ videos
ReplyDeletei've never posted any copyright videos or anything agains the rules(I think)
so plz youtube give me the ability to make 15min+ videos
youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/minecraftdevelopment
"I had the permission to upload videos longer than 15 minutes (in another account, not this one). I didn't need it until now. I uploaded 1 video today of 15:39 minutes and it was rejected. Why did it desappear this unbound limit of time? Am I going to have it again? Thanks."
ReplyDeleteDITTO. ????
So do we get to share ad revenue next? Just Asking!
ReplyDeleteWorks for me on a channel for a 'missed service'-service for a youthservice. Yet: what is the maximum length now?
ReplyDeleteاريد هذه الخدمه في اسرع وقت فأني محتاج لها
ReplyDeleteMy Channel "TehGimpsters" has 35 Subscribers, and 40 Videos. It was made on Feb 16, 2011. I still cannot upload videos longer than 15 minutes, it says my account is in good standing. Help.
ReplyDeleteIn case those having trouble uploading longer than 15 minutes have not done this already, the first step is to go to your Channel view, under Settings button and choose "Director" as Channel Type from the drop down box. This enabled longer video uploads for me.
ReplyDeleteThis is great news for me as I have many long shows to upload. People keep asking same questions though; From what I can read it's <4 hours and <20 GB
ReplyDeleteI dont have this.
ReplyDeleteAccount: ventilator98
i agree with bionicle2809 as he said...
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry YouTube, but this is crap.
I recently when I was gonna upload a Portal 2 Video I made, it said:
ReplyDelete"Congratulations! Your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes. Click the Upload button below to select a video."
So I uploaded my 18 min Video and it uploaded and plays just fine.
If you don't believe me, it's here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=389exQQYxzo
Guys I can even upload a 5 minute video what is going on?
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously annoyed right now. MAY I PLEASE GET UNLIMITED TIME FOR MY VIDS? I've waited for three months and I have no copyright strikes. This is like, a call to YouTube to review my channel since you have no request system.
ReplyDeleteHay guya....i can upload videos Up to 15 minutes in length, and i can more...PLEASE CAN YOU HELP..me ANSWER me on patrik.kreso@hotmail.com.thank you
ReplyDeleteSome people use this feature to upload whole DVD concerts so I don't get that thing of "As long as it’s your original content"
ReplyDeleteI did get uncapped, but it was around the time I was about to quit YouTube.
ReplyDeleteHey youtube my channel has no copyright and no strikes why cant i post videos longer then 15 minutes
ReplyDeletemy channel is
XxTheGreenDeathxX
Can you grant it?
Why cant i upload videos longer then 15 minutes please help me
ReplyDeleteXxTheGreenDeathxX
why can't my profile (Awesom3Gamer) not upload longer than 15 minutes? I have no strikes, so i'm confused...
ReplyDelete:( i cant upload longer then 15minutes (7418258) and no strikes
ReplyDeleteWe need to have longer than 15 minutes as we have video productions we want to upload, some come up to 50 minutes! We cant submit to machinima as they don't accept files larger than 500mb, We want to upload fullHD content. please grant us Unlimited Upload please,
ReplyDeleteWe have no strikes or copyright messages of any kind
yt: ExultionFilms
Thanks!
Can I please get the Unlimited Upload please? :(
ReplyDeleteI have no strikes. :(
YES
ReplyDeleteI don't get it. I followed the community guidelines, but I still have the 15 minutes limit!
ReplyDeleteI was able to upload long videos, but now I can't. The short videos I upload don't have any thumbnails. Can someone help me with this, who should I talk to? I can't even report the bug (tried differenet computers, different browsers). My username is veselinm86.
ReplyDeletewoot
ReplyDeletei want to upload longer videos so that my subs will be happier and make the jobb of making videos easier. so that i dont have to render 6 videos each time i record. with 15+ videos i only need to render like 3. i dont have any copyright. it says "Your account is in good standing." so please youtube let me upload longer videos!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/totalspelnerd
I'm at my wits end here. I really didn't want to resort to this, but I don't know what else I have to do to get the unlimited time on my videos as well.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/user/MisterOhma
Yes, I too post video game related stuff. Who doesn't (at least until Congress has their way)? However, I am in good standing with copyrights, same as, apparently, everyone else who's posted here. I have been for as long as this deal has been going on. So I believe that I finally deserve a little love as well as far as this goes.
I've been good and I plan on staying good. PLEASE let me upload videos longer than 15 minutes.

ReplyDeleteIt does seem rather a waste of everyone's time "trying" to upload long videos just to see if it now works or not. Either we have extended length or not, it should be as simple as that. It surely is not beyond the possibilities for YouTube to add an indicator to your upload option to indicate this is now possible?
ReplyDeleteThe whole seems hit and miss in an attempt to upload videos of longer duration. For some people, it's pointless having an account if they can't upload the complete video,
I lost my unlimit video length, recently but i discovered if you have worldwide blocked videos, you losT the 15 unlimit
ReplyDeleteJUST DELETE THE WORLDWIDE BLOCKED VIDEO, and unlimit video length will be back again
I have a youtube video I made MYSELF just over 15 minutes, and the Youtube admins still won't let me upload it. How long does one have to wait? 5 years? 10 years?
ReplyDeleteYoutube are rubbing salt in the wounds for those who have videos just over 15 minutes, by snowboating the 10 minute limit to 15. May be one millennium down the line, You Tube will finally allow all users who's account are in good standard (i.e my one) to upload more than 15 minute.
