Sorry this is unrelated, but could you please add a feature when you get a response to a comment made on a video, that it would redirect you to the comment you made?
The HQ option was already available for a couple weeks, and the widescreen option was available at one point, but was somewhat hidden for a few weeks. The HD embeds are good in some cases though.
"As always, let us know how you find using this new feature. We'll use your feedback to make improvements as we roll out new features for embeds."
Why bother? You never listen to our feedback anyway, otherwise, we'd have options to switch back to fullscreen players.
Oh, AND ScenicVideos, believe or not, yes some people actually do still use dial-up, usually in rural places where they can't get cable, and the phone company doesn't offer DSL.
Some people still use IE6 too *cough*like me*cough*
When I resume any video in HD, the video is choppy. I have to start the video all over again in HD to get a smooth video. I'm running a dual core desktop with the most current stable version of firefox.
There seems to be a problem with the High Quality option on new videos being uploaded. A video I uploaded does not have the High Quality option, even though it should.

I'm amazed at how horrible the whole HD process is. They take forever to upload and rarely play back without being choppy. I can go full screen on many other sites in HD and it's a beautiful streaming experience on a 42 minute show. Why is the experience so lousy on YT for a 5 minute video? I have a fast computer with a lot of RAM. It's not worth my time to watch or create them.
Btw, is it me, or are videos not processing this weekend? I've bee waiting for a video to process for over 5 hours today. Is this the new norm? I could care less about HD, I just want the standard videos to upload.
Same here, anakin1814. HD videos are always choppy until they finish loading for some reason. And I've been waiting for a 2-minute, standard-def video to process forever. What exactly does YouTube do when it processes videos, anyway?
Yep, the HD feature does not work well, and....please stop showing this popular video list, it's so annoying to click '' most viewed'' every time. I normaly want to check most viewed videos becuase it's more timely.
With video link annotations is there a way to make the link open another browser window instead of go to the link in the same window. I think when a video is embedded the browser launches another window. You do this when links are in the video description.
I think this is great! It is about time the feature to get HQ/HD and full screen playback are now on embedded players as this is a feature I have been hoping for. This change has prompted me to remove the embedded players I have from another video sharing site and replace it with the one from YouTube. Now we just need the annotations to work on embedded players too! Great Job YouTube!
If an embed video is not in HQ or HD my suggestion is that you still make the embed player 480 wide and 295 high by default so i don't have to keep choosing embed code size options. spiele

Make HQ on HD videos where it matters...the video page itself.

ReplyDeleteguys, i found a way for us not to experience choppy playback in HD.
ReplyDeletethe streaming must start at the very beginning of the clip, not in any point afterwards.
simply speaking, just move the slider to the very beginning of the clip so it will stream the very first second of the clip.
It would be great to be able to set embedded videos to start in HQ rather than requiring the user to start the video and THEN click the HQ button.
